The Orders of St John Care Trust is the 2nd largest not for profit care provider in the UK specialising in providing high quality, person centred care for older people, in care homes and extra care housing. As a charity we ensure that any revenue goes straight back into our homes meaning our residents and staff are well looked after.
As a Housekeeper you will be responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and tidiness of the home, which may also involve helping with the laundry.
You will take pride in presenting the home to its highest standard and help to welcome residents and their family and friends to the environment.
As an integral part of the team you will get to know the residents and know what their preferences are in their individual spaces, they may even want to help you.
The Government’s ‘Infection Control Fund’ (introduced as a result of the Coronavirus) requires Care homes to restrict permanent and temporary staff to working in only one care home, to help reduce the spread of the Coronavirus. As a result of this, if you already have another job elsewhere (either in Care or another sector) and you wish to continue working there alongside the Trust, unfortunately we would not be able to progress with your application at this time. However, if you are happy to consider committing to working for us exclusively until the restrictions are lifted we are happy to discuss guaranteeing you the hours you will lose from not being able to work your second job. Or once the restrictions are lifted, please do not hesitate to re-apply for any of our roles that maybe of interest to you then.
As a Laundry Assistant, you will be responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and tidiness of the laundry facilities including all linen storage areas and for providing a laundry service which includes the operation of commercial washing, drying and finishing machinery.
As an integral part of the team you will get to know the residents and know what their preferences are, they may even want to help you.
Alternate weekend working will be required.
